Rope books are without doubt the most popular category at just about every event I go to. I am lucky enough to have accessed a couple of consistent suppliers of good, recently-published rope books and, while I do occasionally pick up some of the older classics, knowing how well-loved and frequently-recommended some of them are, the newer ones do seem to be more accessible. As with everything, choose the one that appeals to you. Pre loved titles tend not to get listed on the site as they sell too quickly at in-person events, so if there’s something you are in search of, come along and have a chat…

THE PLEASURE OF ROPE
Bob Bentley
This is the book that goes with the 2018 documentary, featuring stills and information and, again, pictures of amazing ties that you might want to try out at home… once you have got your skills up (perhaps with the help of some of the more educational rope titles available from DSW and other booksellers.)

THE LITTLE GUIDE TO GETTING TIED UP
Evie Vane
One of the very few books that advises the person on the receiving end of rope bondage rather than teaching you how to tie your knots. Covering safety, negotiation and consent, and with all sorts of tips on enjoying rope fun while keeping yourself in good physical and mental shape, it’s widely recommended.

Two Knotty Boys
This is the second how-to bondage book from this duo (the first one may well be in stock again in the near future.) It features more ties than the first volume, and elaborations of some of those shown in the other book, but it is still easy to understand and accessible for a beginner.
