New Release: Best Women’s Erotica of the Year Vol 3

BWE 3, women's, anthology

It seems to be a great time of year for anthologies – the latest one to come my way is BWE3 from Cleis Press.

Here’s the blurb

Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Volume 3 delivers the kind of sexy stories you want most: daring, bold, and surprising tales of women who pursue their boundless passions anywhere and everywhere. Edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, winner of multiple Independent Publishing Book Awards, these scintillating scenarios turn the tables on how women are “supposed” to behave. Instead, these uninhibited vixens indulge in their favorite fetishes, do deliciously intimate “Body Shots,” and get tied up with “Red Satin Ribbons.” They pose nude, dress up, and roleplay, always obeying their most exhilarating impulses. These lusty ladies take your most cherished, private fantasies—from making a sex tape, to taking part in a thrilling threesome, to having a stud delivered to your door hot and ready—and make them come alive. Written by beloved authors Abigail Barnette, Annabel Joseph, and Charlotte Stein along with several genre newcomers, these are erotic encounters you’ll want to savor again and again and again.

From “Bibliophile” by Dee Blake

One particular evening, she stared longingly at the collection of public-domain classics rewritten as erotica, her two favorite things combined into one. She was unsuccessfully trying to choose which of the paperbacks to accompany her back to her loft apartment, something to take the edge off, an edge that always lingered after a day at the library, and something to drive her to climax within her solitude. She was so torn as to which three of the novels to select—a necessary, self-imposed limit—that she did not notice the stranger enter the store and approach the place where she stood.

This man was not the usual customer. He was mature, about a decade older than Sophie, she guessed from his appearance, and he had a cultured look to him. His graying hair was trim and well-groomed, his physique slender but healthy, and he wore a classy looking dark gray overcoat over trendy and pricey casual business wear. As Sophie reached for Scents and Sensitivity, he commented, “That one’s good, but not nearly as entrancing as Jane’s Boudoir. I always like to picture myself in Rochester’s shoes, tangled between the rough, wild sex that he had come to expect from his crazed wife and the delicious temptation of that intense little bud of a governess, trembling to blossom beneath his touch. It was delicious.”

The man’s smile was sensual, without suggesting lechery, and his blue-green eyes shone with amusement. Was he mocking her? She preferred to cling to the hope that perhaps she had found a like-minded soul.

“I’ll take both then,” Sophie purred with an inviting grin, as she plucked the two books from the shelf. Her heart raced with anticipatory excitement. “That leaves me one more to choose.”

After a moment’s pause, she reached for Thrusting at Windmills, Don Quixote with a twist, as the newcomer also made a move to pull it down. When their fingers touched as they made contact with the spine, Sophie experienced an instant positive reaction, a violent thrill that shook her to the core. This was a man that she could relate to. She tossed back her dark hair, revealing her ample cleavage, praying that he would see the desire in her dark eyes.
